Paradise Village crooks still loose

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  The two men who got into a shootout with a woman they tried to rob Thursday are still on the run. Dougherty County Police are following some leads.

Dihanna McCullock was attacked by a man with gun and one with a knife as she showed up for work at Paradise Village Mobile Home Park.

She was grazed in the arm by a bullet and fired back. She insists she hit one of the burglars.

Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards supports Georgia law that gives you the right to carry a gun and protect yourself, but he recommends you let police handle trouble if possible.

"I always recommend letting the professionals do what they have to do. They are trained, they have the equipment and they are dedicated to doing what is right to protect and serve the community."

The D. A. says Georgians who carry guns should get proper training and remember that even if you have the legal right to protect yourself, you could still face civil lawsuits.
