ALBANY, GA (WALB) - River Pointe pro Sonny Skinner has been named the Senior PGA Professional of the Year.
The Sylvester native is the first player in PGA of America history to win the PGA Professional Player of the Year and the Senior Professional of the Year Awards.
Skinner won the PGA professional two years ago.
In both years, he finished second at the PGA Professional National championship which qualified him for the PGA Championship.
Skinner turned 50 in August and is looking to play on the Champions Tour this year.
Skinner will receive his Senior PGA professional player of the year award later this month in Orlando.
