ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  The Payroll Development Authority took steps today to ensure Procter & Gamble can access grant money due the company from an expansion in 2008.

That's when P & G initiated a 30-million project to expand several lines at the Albany plant. The company received a $150,000 dollar One Georgia grant, but a checking account must be established to access that money. Wednesday, the Payroll Development Authority authorized the account.

The PDA is also getting quotes from a local company called TTL for an environmental study on the new Albany Dougherty Industrial Park along Highway 82. The study must be done to access $640,000 in grants from Senator Saxby Chambliss' office.
