ALBANY, GA (WALB) – We have new information on a little girl who was used to scam a man out of child support money he didn't owe.
We now know who she is. Tuesday night, we showed you this little girl. Turns out a woman who isn't her mother, convinced her ex-boyfriend that the child was theirs, and forced him to pay her child support for three years.
As the little girl got older and began to talk, she told the man he wasn't her father. So many of you recognized the child last night on our news and called her family, you even called the sheriff's office.
We now know the little girl is five years old and lives in Moultrie. Her family is livid to learn that it was the child's godmother who was passing her off as her own child to get child support money.
You can bet there will be criminal charges to follow, and we'll keep you updated.
