ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Nearly seven months after the gang-related beating death of an Albany man, another suspect is in jail.

Albany Police arrested 30-year-old Jason Staples late Tuesday afternoon.  He's charged with murder and gang participation in the death of Reginald Richardson.

Richardson was beaten last June 23rd as part of his initiation into the Black Gangsta Disciples.

Staples is the 11th suspected member of that gang charged in the case.

Prosecutors say those arrests put a major dent in gang activity in the city.

Investigators say they've been looking for Staples for months.  Patrol officers saw him Tuesday afternoon working at SOWEGA Tax Services on Gillionville Road and arrested him.
