ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany Firefighter was arrested and jailed on charges of receiving stolen property.
38-year old Alexander Dawson was arrested two days before Christmas on December 23rd for buying three stolen TV's for $300.
Dawson is suspended with pay from his firefighter position pending an internal investigation.
"Suspended with pay at this time in accordance with the personnel system until the grand jury indicts him, or if the individual admits to this we would move to more serious disciplinary action," said Wes Smith, Albany Assistant City Manager.
Further disciplinary action could mean suspension without pay or even termination. Dawson was released from Jail on $2,500 bond the same day he was arrested.
