Albany - The Albany city manager just announced that Timothy Mabe of Valdosta is the best qualified candidate for the Albany Civic Center Director position.

Mr. Mabe was most recently Executive Director for the Valdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center & Tourism Authority.

Prior to that, he was General Manager of the Garland ISD Special Events Center for five years in Garland, Texas.

He also spent seven years as the Executive Director for the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center Authority in Dalton, Georgia.

The City is providing public notice of Mr. Lott's decision on the best qualified candidate in compliance with Georgia's open records law. At least 14 days must now pass before there is final action on selecting the Civic Center Director.
