THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) –Veterinarians euthanized a horse hit by a truck on a busy Thomas County highway.
The accident happened Thursday morning on U.S. 319 South, just outside Thomasville city limits.
Authorities say a man driving a delivery truck could not avoid hitting one of two horses that broke through a Shallow Brook Farm fence.
Veterinarians called to the scene made the decision to euthanize the 20-year old Appaloosa horse due to its severe injuries.
The delivery truck sustained some damage but the driver walked away unharmed and will not face any charges.
