ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  It only takes a dollar for a chance to win big and celebrate New Year's with a bang.

The Mega Millions jackpot has rolled over to 242 million dollars. Many people are playing. No one's hit the jackpot in more than 18 weeks of bi-weekly drawings. The lucky winner will win more than 7.7 million dollars for 26 years or more than 127 million dollars in cash. Today players talked about what they might do with the money if they won.

"I'd buy my family a car and me a new home. Do you think that would pretty much leave you set for life? It sure would, it sure would," said Donna Wiggins, Mega Millions player.

The next drawing for the Mega Millions is New Year's Eve. More than 12.1 billion dollars in lottery funds has been paid to the state of Georgia for education.
