By Robert Hydrick - bio | email

MEMPHIS, TN (WALB) - Georgia football fans naturally are disappointed by the Bulldogs 6-6 season. The numbers Aaron Murray has produced in his first season are equal or surpassing those of some former Bulldog quarterbacks.I don't think any other quarterback in the nation, especially a freshman, had the talent around him that I did. I was extremely blessed to come into a situation where it was all not on my shoulders. I had guys around me who could make plays for me."

The Liberty Bowl game is Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Memphis.

The play of freshman quarterback Aaron Murray has the Bulldogs believing things will get better quickly.

Murray has already broken David Greene's record for most passing yards by a freshman.

If Murray throws two touchdown passes against Central Florida, he will break the Georgia single season record set by Matthew Stafford in his first season.

Perhaps the most impressive stat is the redshirt freshmen has thrown just six interceptions in over 300 attempts this season.

Murray says he has been able to produce those great numbers because of the veteran cast that surrounds him.
