California pot permit doesn't work in GA

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) –Authorities busted a Thomas County man claiming to have a California pot permit as an excuse for his marijuana stash.

When a sheriff's deputy stopped Utrun Jones for speeding, he spotted a bag of pot in his car. A further search revealed several more bags.

Officers say Jones claimed to have a California-issued pot permit that allowed him to possess the drug. But drug agents say marijuana is never permitted by law in Georgia.

They charged Jones with marijuana possession with intent to distribute, expired registration, and speeding.

Jones never produced that pot permit he claimed to have.
