ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Dougherty County District attorney's office says that 23-year-old Rico Jones has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment in connection with a catastrophic injury to a three year old child.

The D. A.'s office will not identify the child, but says she is in the Medical Center of Georgia on life-support, and is brain dead.

A  D. A. spokesman says that Jones was smoking marijuana in the room Sunday with the child, and there were a one-year-old and a five-year-old in the same house, though they were not injured.

The mother of all three children is Portia Harper, age 20.  Jones, who is being held in the Dougherty County jail, was the father of the one-year-old, and lived with Harper.
