ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Tech football team will be without 3 more players come Monday night when the Jackets face off against Air Force in the Independence Bowl.

Head coach Paul Johnson announced on Sunday that starting defensive end Anthony Egbuniwe and reserve DB's Louis Young and Michael Peterson won't be allowed to play in the first half for missing a team curfew. This comes after 4 other players were declared ineligible for the bowl because of academic issues.

On a brighter side for the Jackets, the team got to relax a bit on Christmas Day by playing pool and bowling on Saturday.  Both players and coaches had a chance to take their minds off of football for a while and stay fresh for the game. For coach Johnson, it was good to see his players blow off some steam and have a good time before Monday night.

Johnson said "Well it's great. You can see that they're having a great time and spending some quality time together with each other. I'm sure they're competing with each other like they always do, laughing at each other, having a good time."
