THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) –Students at a Thomasville school spent their Christmas Eve making sure other children have toys under the tree Christmas morning.

Favor Christian Academy students raised money through bake sales and collections at businesses to purchase toys.

They handed out the toys to families in need Friday.

"I try to teach them to give just like God has given us Jesus, the whole reason for the season," explains Linda McLean, the principal of Favor Christian Academy. "And they were excited about it. Really, really excited."

Student Joshua Lyons agrees and adds, "It feels great just to help somebody."

School officials plan to make the toy giveaway an annual event.
