White Christmas for South Georgia

ATLANTA (AP) - The National Weather Service predicts snow flurries as far south as the Florida line in Georgia and even into the Florida Panhandle late Christmas night.

The Snow for South Georgia is expected to be light with no accumulation.  It will come after Midnight Saturday.

Drivers in north Georgia might be wise to stay off the roads on Christmas Day.

Forecaster Shirley Lamback says precipitation in North Georgia is expected Friday night and could be a mix of rain and snow, especially in the mountains. Temperatures are expected to be in the lower 30s.

Lamback says a rain and snow mix is expected in metro Atlanta Saturday morning.

She says north Georgia should be getting mostly snow Saturday, with rain and snow mixed in metro Atlanta.

Later, she says the mix should change to mainly snow for much of north Georgia, including the Atlanta area.

With temperatures dropping to the mid-20s Saturday night, Lamback says there could be some accumulation.

Precipitation is expected to end by Sunday morning with temperatures rising.
