THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) –A 2-year old Thomas County girl died Wednesday after authorities say a family member accidentally ran her over in their driveway.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call from a home in the two-thousand block of Summerhill Road around 1:10 this afternoon.

They found the toddler unresponsive.

Emergency responders tried to save the child while rushing her to Archbold Memorial Hospital but she passed away shortly after arrival.

Authorities say the family member driving the vehicle could not see the girl and are calling the incident a tragic accident.

The Thomas County Sheriff's Office is not releasing the names of those involved at this time.
