Sands death investigation continues

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –An investigation into the death of an East Albany woman continues as her family asks for help to pay for her funeral.

24-year old Shereeka Oliver was found in need of medical treatment at her Sands Drive Apartment Sunday afternoon.

She died later at the hospital.

Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine if foul play was involved in her death.

Monday the family of the Albany Tech student asked for help with her funeral.

Oliver's mother Aretha Jackson said  "She didn't have any insurance and so that leaves the family in quite a bind. So any, all friends that could donate anything, that people could give, we would greatly appreciate it."

An account in Shereeka Oliver's name has been opened at Suntrust Bank for donations.
