ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A death investigation is underway in Albany after a woman's body was discovered in an east Albany apartment around 3:30 Saturday a.m

Paramedics found 24-year-old Shereeka Oliver in apartment 2904 in need of treatment and rushed her to Phoebe Putney Hospital where she later died.

Oliver was found in the 600 Block of Sands Drive at the Wild Pines Apartments, that's near Albany Sate University.

Detectives had to wait for a search warrant before they could enter the apartment and gather evidence. A person of interest was questioned and released.

Police say it's too early to rule the death a homicide. The body will taken to the crime lab for an autopsy.
