BRONWOOD, GA (WALB) - There was a lot of Christmas spirit in one little town in Terrell County.

Bronwood's Positive Direction Youth Center sponsored Christmas in the Park. A lot of people came together to make sure hundreds of kids have a merry Christmas.

As the siren's song brings expressions of anticipation, Santa brings gifts and hope to kids involved in the Positive Direction Youth Center.

For the past seven years, the center has provided food, clothing, and after school care for children in Terrell County. Rosie Alston's grand and great grand kids have reaped the benefits.

"Anything they needed, the center was there for every child," said Alston.

As families enjoy singing and gift giving, Director, Dorothy Tomlin praises the community for joyful donations despite a dismal economy.

"With the economy we did not see a drop in our giving and we were able to provide gifts for our 300 children," said Tomlin.

Tomlin is already anticipating an 8th annual Christmas in the Park next year. The Positive Youth Direction Center will also give gifts to the Division of Family and Children Services for foster children.
