ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Albany's Pecan Grove Corporate Park is one of only 15 sites in Georgia to earn the Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development certification.  The distinction is granted by Georgia Allies, a public-private partnership that leads economic development marketing efforts.

Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission President Ted Clem said, "It's another great marketing tool for economic developers.  The certification assures prospects  that Albany-Dougherty County is serious about economic development and dedicated to making that process smoother, easier, and faster."

Pecan Grove is a 292-acre industrial park across from the airport. It has 173 remaining developable acres.

To get the certification, the park had to meet numerous criteria including having gas, water, sewer, and electrical infrastructure in place.
