ALBANY,  GA (WALB) – An annual tradition continued at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Albany Thursday as hundreds of people got Christmas presents and a good meal.

For the 10th year in a row Mt. Zion members prepared a holiday meal with all the trimmings and fed more than 700 people. The Pastor says the event grows every year.

"It just fills my heart with joy and appreciation that we are blessed to be able to provide for so many people. That's what life is about, it's about passing it on," said Pastor Daniel Simmons Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

"It's fantastic because we get to enjoy a nice dinner and they give out gifts," said Barbara Nix, Albany Resident.

Members of the church and people in the community helped purchase hundreds of gifts. Kroger and Tara Foods also gave away 200 turkeys to families so they can have a nice Christmas dinner next week.

The Pastor says leftover food will be donated to other ministries.
