ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The public will get their first look at the first building to open on Phoebe Sumter's Hospital complex this weekend.
Construction crews were busy working on the four story, 76 bed hospital Wednesday. Crews continue to pour concrete and unload more supplies despite the frigid temperatures. Monday, they'll open the Women and Family Health Center. Final touches are now being put on the exam rooms and doctor offices.
"We'll have three OBGYN's and three family practice medical doctors, they'll also have the opportunity to have DEXA-scan and Mammogram kind of an all for one, a whole family, not only for the women but they can bring their kids and get vaccinations and things of that nature all in the same building," said Marcus Johnson, Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
The Women's and Family Health Center will hold an open house Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The Oncology and Surgery Center is expected to open in late February or early March, followed by the Wellness and Fitness Center. The hospital itself should open late next year.
