TIFTON, GA (WALB) –Georgia Trend Magazine recently named Tift Regional Medical Center a top ten Georgia hospital in heart care and spine surgery
The Director of Outreach and development says this is the first time Georgia Trend has done this special section focusing on the best hospitals in different clinical areas.
The findings were based on data that all hospitals have to supply to Medicare, Medicaid and the state.
Coronary Interventional procedures are minimally invasive procedures that can minimize the damage of a heart attack and help with other issues related to heart disease.
Orthopedic spine surgery can treat disorders of the neck and back.
"With coronary intervention and orthopedic spine surgery these are programs that years ago people had to travel far way from home and family to get these procedures done so we are able to offer them locally now which is a big benefit for our community," said Chris Efaw, Director of Outreach and Development.
Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville and South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta also made it onto Georgia Trend's Top Ten list.
