ALBANY, GA (WALB) -The homeless continue to start fires in vacant homes in Albany. It's putting surrounding homes in danger and keeping firefighters busy.

Fire officials say vagrants are behind two fires that happened within hours of each other Monday - one on North Mock and the other on West First street.

This time the condemned unit, C-38, went up in flames at Mimosa Mobile Home park. It's been keeping fire fighters busy.

"Absolutely. We've been very busty with calls because people have been wanting to stay warm," said AFD Battalion Chief, Marty Leverett.

The city is working hard to get rid of some of these dilapidated properties. In October, city officials demolished the first mobile home in the park. Roughly 30 more properties are on that list.
