ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Palmyra Medical Center showed off its new Pediatrics Wing to business and civic leaders Thursday night. It was designed with the comfort of families in mind.

It includes a children's playroom, a family media center, and a multi-media room for adolescents. CEO Mark Rader says patients will also be treated by the best pediatric nurses. "To a parent that should be reassuring. To a pediatrician that should be reassuring that when they admit to this unit or when a parent has a child admitted to this unit or a teenager, they're in the best hands possible. That should mean everything to them," Rader said.

Parents can sleep in the patient rooms with their children. Rader says the rooms don't seem like typical hospital rooms at all. The 5000 square foot unit officially opens Monday.
