THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) – A body was found in a wooded area of Thomas County Thursday night.  Authorities are trying to figure out how the man died.

A little before 5 o'clock Thursday night, the landowner found the body in the 1000 block of Highway 84 East. 

Thomas County authorities tell us they think it's a white man, and the body was probably there for several weeks.

An i.d. of a Plantation City, Florida man was found near the body.  An autopsy Friday will determine the identity and cause of death.
