ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A Mitchell County man wanted for aggravated assault in the shooting of his wife is hospitalized tonight after cutting his wrists before he could be arrested.

Mitchell County Investigators found Willie James Hollis around 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the same Pleasant Grove Church Road home where he shot his wife the day before. Investigators say they found Hollis in the kitchen with knife wounds to his wrists.

He's been transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Sheriff's investigators solicited help from the U.S. Marshal's office to find Hollis.

"The Marshal's Service that's what they specialize in is finding absconding people, that's what the Marshal's do and they're great at it," said Mitchell Co. Investigator Kevin Sellers.

Patricia Hollis was released from the hospital yesterday and is said to be recovering from her gunshot wound. Once Willie Hollis is released from the hospital, he'll be held in the Mitchell County Jail on aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and fire arms violations.
