DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA (WALB) - Surveillance video caught a cigarette bandit on tape breaking into a Dougherty County convenience store.

Police hope the public can help catch him. The video shows the burglar pulling up to the Fast Lane Food Store on Sylvester Highway in a burgundy car around 5:15 Saturday morning.

He smashes the glass door with a brick, jumps over the counter and looks for money. Towels cover his feet to mask his shoe prints.

He knocks down several cigarette packs on his way to the safe. He finds no money, grabs the cigarettes and runs out.

The burglar wore a black T-shirt and covered his face with another shirt.  If you think you recognize him, call Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
