ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  You've likely noticed that gasoline prices are on the rise again. It's risen 11 cents in the past week to $2.83 per gallon.

The AAA auto club says lower-than-expected job growth weakened the dollar and made crude oil a more appealing commodity to foreign investors.

South Georgians agree the higher price is anything but appealing, especially at Christmas-time.

This time last year, we paid $2.52 per gallon, 31 cents lower than the current price.

The national average for a gallon of gas right now is $2.93.
