ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Two vehicles crashed into two different Albany businesses in the last 24 hours.

The first happened at the Civil Rights Museum. 35 year old Willie Leanear tells police he was trying to commit suicide when he drove his truck into the building just after 7:00 last night.

He wasn't seriously injured. The glass in one set of the front doors were smashed, but there was no other damage to the building or any historical items. Leanear was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Then just before 8:00AM Friday, an SUV crashed through the front window of a northwest Albany boutique. The Chevy Blazer crashed Envy Boutique on Old Dawson Road.

Police say 35-year-old Jacob Shaddock had a diabetic seizure, lost control of his SUV and hit the building.

The store is open, but the owner worries the crash may hurt business. "I may not even have my window display. Right now they may be just boarding it up, with the amount of damage that is done. They don't know how soon they can get it fixed, so I'm sure that will have an effect on it," said Julia Temples, store owner.

Shaddock was treated at an Albany hospital.

Temples says none of her merchandise was damaged, except for some mannequins in that window.
