ALBANY, GA (WALB) –A South Albany business owner says crime is increasing in his neighborhood, and he is the victim once again.
Cooper thieves stripped the a/c unit at Charlie and Pearl's restaurant on South Jefferson.
This is all that is left of it.
Kary Porter has owned the Coachman Park Plaza since 1993, and he says crime is worse than ever.
Porter said "But looks like over the last 2 or 3 years things have really escalated as far as crime. From the air conditioner being destroyed, to the shop being broken into. So we can see where crime has really gone up in the last couple of years."
Porter says he will increase security around his business plaza and fence in his air conditioners on the roof.
He says it will cost $3000 to replace the stripped unit.
