ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Baseball's National League Rookie of the Year will serve as grand marshal of Leebsurg's Christmas parade.
Buster Posey will return home to Leesburg Saturday to lead the community's Spirit of Christmas parade & festival. The parade kicks off at 10:00 AM and will include more than 100 floats and bands. Organizers say they're not sure who will be a bigger draw Santa Claus or Buster Posey.
"I don't know I think it will be a toss up, but we're proud of Buster and it's our way of recognizing him for his accomplishments and we just want to say, we're proud of you Buster and we love you," said Judy Powell, Event Organizer.
Festivities will continue all day in downtown Leesburg with the addition this year of the Doggie Fun Zone. Dogs can chase a lure through an obstacle course for a $10.00. The proceeds will benefit Lee County's Fifth Friday Animal Shelter.
