ALBANY, GA (WALB) – This Black Friday the stores were busy and shoppers flooded the roads to get there but so far there have been no fatal wrecks on South Georgia roads.

The state has reported only five fatalities, all in central and north Georgia.

It's been wet on most roads in our area Friday but so far smooth sailing.

In Dougherty County, police spent the day looking for traffic violators, focusing on DUI's and Speeders.

"We have heavy traffic and a lot of speeders out there, many of them are not wearing their seatbelts. We've been lucky so far we haven't had a fatality," said Cpl. Robert Richard, Dougherty County H.E.A.T.

In 2009 the state patrol reported 13 fatalities on Georgia roads.
