BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) –A man was killed in a three-vehicle wreck in Bainbridge this morning.

Around 10:30, 61-year old Willie Smart was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee east on Butler Ferry Road when officers say he failed to stop at a stop sign.

A Mack truck traveling south on Spring Creek hit the Jeep and clipped the back end of another truck.

Smart died at the scene.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove his body.

Neither the semi truck driver nor the driver of the pickup was seriously injured.
