ALBANY, GA (WALB) – It was 78 degrees on Saturday, but it wasn't too hot to start Christmas tree shopping.

Eames Trees started setting up their first load of 700 Christmas trees near the Bank of America parking lot at Dawson and Slappey.

The 83-year-old has been selling the trees in Albany for 44 years.

This year Shirley Williams bought the first tree, Eames says the business has survived for so long because he offers customers a great product at the best prices.

Small trees start as low as $15.

To attract more business during the down economy, Eames pays the sales tax on all of his trees for customers. He plans stop selling the trees just a couple days shy of Christmas Day.
