DOT re-opens S.R. 37 and S.R. 11 in Lanier, Clinch

The Georgia Department of Transportation, along with local law enforcement have reopened state routes in Lanier and Clinch counties that were closed due to fog and smoke from a fire in and around the Arabia Swamp located in Clinch County.

The following roads have been reopened;

Lanier County

U.S. 129/S.R. 11 has been reopened between U.S. 84/S.R. 38 and S.R. 37.

Lanier and Clinch Counties

State Route 37 has been reopened between U.S. 221/ S.R. 31 in Lanier County and S.R.168 in Clinch County.

Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about this or any other construction project on interstates and state routes. Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, and delays due to inclement weather. Callers also can transfer to operators to request assistance or report incidents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. More information is available at www.511ga.org.
