ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Westover Patriots face a tough opener Saturday night against AAAAA power Tift County in Tifton.

Dallis Smith said. "Sometimes teams don't like playing those teams in the beginning. But we need to see where we are. So, we can talk about the things we need to do to try to get better."

Westover's game on November 19th against Thomasville has been postponed due to the Bulldogs football playoff game at Tattnall County.

The game will be played on January 7th at the Westover Gym.

Head coach Dallis Green lost four starters and two key reserves from a team that has made two straight final four appearances.

The Patriots do return Malcolm Sapp and junior Dequan Green is ready to step off the bench into the starting lineup.

The goal at Westover will be ready by tournament time and the early schedule should help get the Patriots in shape.
