ALBANY, GA (WALB) - After traveling with the Darton women to the national tournament two years ago as an assistant coach, Darton men's head soccer coach Bart Sasnett was hoping the day would come soon his Cavaliers team would make their first trip to nationals.
The long awaited day finally arrived Tuesday morning.
Darton College giving the men's soccer team a big sendoff before the Cavaliers boarded a bus and headed to the national tournament in Tyler Texas.
Coach Sasnett says his trip as an assistant coach for the women's national runner-up team two years ago has helped him prepare his squad for what they face in the eight team tournament this weekend.
After winning the district title November 6th, the Darton squad is ready to get to Texas and get on the field.
Sophomore forward Mynor Perez said. "I am very excited. First time Darton has ever gotten to this level. We are really excited and we hope to represent the school very well."
Bart Sasnett said. "We are excited. We are looking forward to a good trip over there. I am ready to start playing now."
