One man driving south on Madison Street lost control and hit a power box at Madison and 2nd Avenue, shutting off power to the intersection's traffic lights and a few homes in the area.
Around the same time a woman driving a silver Honda Accord on the Liberty Bypass hydroplaned and hit a guard rail.
Both drivers are OK.
Law enforcers caution drivers to slow down during the rain today to avoid similar traffic accidents.
