ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of Baptist church leaders from around the state are in Albany  for the Georgia Baptist Convention's annual meeting.

Sherwood Baptist Church is one of the few venues in south Georgia big enough to host the event.

Pastors, church staff, and other members are taking part in worship services, Workshops, and business sessions. The atrium is also full of Christian books, CD's and other material for people to purchase.

The annual meeting started Sunday evening and runs through Tuesday. Some people attending the conference will take part in a service project.

They'll distribute food to folks with food vouchers from the food bank Tuesday afternoon at Mallary Baptist Association on Mock road.
