BLUFFTON, GA (WALB) - South Georgians will soon head to grocery stores to hunt for the perfect Thanksgiving turkey.
One South Georgia farmer has expanded the choices on his farm to meet a growing demand.
Will Harris owns White Oak Pastures for the first time this year they're selling organic turkeys in addition to beef and chicken.
So far they have harvested 1,000 gobblers for the holidays and have almost sold out.
The birds aren't cheap, largely because of the quality Harris says they deliver. Depending on weight they're anywhere from $100 to $130.
Harris says raising turkeys is a venture that is paying off and growing. They'll soon build a processing plant to serve other turkey and chicken producers.
