ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Westover High running back Stevie Bowens is this week's WALB Albany Area Player of the Week.

Dr. Tim Darden made the presentation Wednesday to morning to Stevie and head coach Octavia Jones.
Bowen led the Westover ground game with 126 yards rushing in last week's win over Monroe.
A victory that gives the Patriots and their senior class the title of city champions.
Stevie Bowens said. "We had to come out and prove something that it was ours from the beginning. We went out there and tried to take it. We wound up taking it and we won the city championship."
Bowens would like to play football at the junior college level next year in hopes of getting big enough to earn a DI or DII scholarship.
