ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Three South Georgia lawmakers have left the Democratic Party and are now Republican.

 State Reps:

Bob Hanner (Parrott)
Gerald Green (Cuthbert)
Alan Powell of Hartwell in North Georgia also joined the Republicans.

They stated Tuesday they are leaving because of upcoming reapportionment.

State Representative Ellis Black of Valdosta confirms to WALB News 10 that he is considering a party change. He says the Democratic party is headed in the wrong direction.
