SALE CITY, GA (WALB) – State troopers have charged a Florida truck driver in a deadly Tuesday night crash. Kerry Mullins was booked into the Mitchell County Jail on charges of misdemeanor vehicular homicide and failure to stop at a stop sign.
He was behind the wheel of commercial truck when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highways 37 and 93 in Sale City and crashed into a Chevy Malibu. The driver of the car, 50-year-old Joe Frank Adams of Pelham, was dead when first responders arrived at the scene.
Troopers say Mullins was unfamiliar with the area and the intersection.
The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team returned to the scene of the crash Wednesday.
Mullins was released from the Mitchell County Jail.
