ALBANY, GA (WALB) –A jury was seated, and opening statements and witness testimony began Tuesday afternoon in the murder trial of three men charged with killing the deputy director of the Albany Search and Rescue Team, Jack Camp.
Prosecutors told jurors that Darrell Anderson, Christopher Ingram, and Dontavius Wilson were murderous drug dealers, who killed Camp March 14, 2007, while he was calling 9-1-1 to report them selling drugs at an East Albany apartment complex where Camp worked as a security guard.
Defense attorneys told the jurors that so many law enforcement friends of Camp showed up the night he was killed, they ruined the evidence at the murder scene. Defense attorneys said their clients were arrested just so someone would be charged for killing the popular Camp.
