By Christian Jennings - bio | email ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Power crews have restored power to all but about three homes in Northwest Albany.
A power line at the intersection of Wallington Drive and Westmoreland Drive in the Doublegate subdivision fell just after 6:00AM, shutting off power to around 350 homes.
A Georgia Power spokesperson believes lightning hit the wire recently during a storm, and last night's icy cold weather caused the wire to uncoil and break.
Crews had the power line replaced by 9:00AM ran into some trouble getting the power back on.
