ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The mercury is already dropping. It'll be near the freezing mark across most of south Georgia Sunday night.

The cold snap this weekend is below what most of us expect in early November.

The drop in temperature equals a rise in sales for those who make money selling firewood. Kevin Rogers sells firewood.

He and his family use some of the wood they cut for their own fireplace, they welcome the cold weather.

"We've been chopping since October, we've been chopping wood, first cold snap of the year sales go up," said Kevin Rogers, Kevin Rogers Construction.

Roger said they do sell some firewood during the warmer months for cooking, but it doesn't compare to Fall and Winter business.
