GRADY COUNTY, GA (WALB) -A Grady county child died after she was hit by a truck.

State troopers say nine-year-old Emely Trejo ran out in front of the truck on Mathis Road Friday evening around 5:00.

Troopers say Trejo was crossing the street from her driveway and the driver could not see her as she stepped into the line of traffic.

Trejo was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. The driver, who swerved to avoid the girl, was not speeding and will not face charges.
