ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Albany Police are asking for your help to track down suspects in a theft ring that's been stealing copper since the summer.

Investigators issued warrants for Monica Swan for making false statements and felony littering.

They're also getting a warrant for Richard Byrd, Junior charging him with dumping wiring.

Angel Wheeler was arrested for obstruction. She bonded out of jail.

Police say they're all connected to stolen copper wire and air conditioning coils recovered last week.

"We've had prior cases where some of these suspects were arrested dealing with copper wiring, as far as how long they've been selling to the recycling companies, it's August as far as we've been able to research," said Schemika Foster, Albany Police Department.

Investigators say community tips are helping them solve these cases.

Last week, neighbors called after seeing a pile of copper wiring being burned on South Jackson Street.

28-year old Rasheen Wheeler tried to run away from officers and was arrested.
