ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Politicians and their supporters put out campaign signs all over south Georgia.

Now that the election is over, Albany city leaders want the signs gone.

Closer to election day more signs went up in rights of way, that's illegal. The city will give campaigns and citizens some time to pick them up.

"We're hoping the campaigns will put their people out there to clean up, we've seen evidence of that so far. The ones that will be a little more difficult are the households and the mom and pop shop businesses," said Wes Smith, Assistant City Manager.

City officials say within the next two weeks, they'll set a date to pick up campaign signs left behind.
